Witness a stubborn man seeking Yang Chow, an arrogant boy seeking to deliver Kung Pao, and a blue meteorite that may be causing more problems than solutions.

Role: Production Designer

The Origin story of Mr. Neal Robey...

This film was done in 3 days, with a small crew, and mostly everything voluntarily offered as far as locations and the car.

Probably one of the most enjoyable films I've been apart of, Kung Pao is a collection of collaborating ideas to make a comedy that is truly iconic.

I was introduced to the idea by the ever so creative director Austin Smith who added me and many other talented people into a group chat in order to create something epic for a big competition.

The film itself was filmed like a 48 hour competition, making it a project that required a trained eye for detail and prior experience working on films with short time limits.

With the art design, our team went through a couple of different ideas on how to make this film iconic enough that someone would want to watch it over and over. Our universe of inspiration came from Into The Spider Verse and Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

My favorite part was the Halloween decorations for the house. We basically bought most of these decorations from the Dollar Store and Thrift Stores, and also anything we owned ourselves.

I remember creating a game plan with the art team and once they were done filming shots of the house without the decorations, we got our signal and booked it and started setting webbing up on the step rails and adding our skeleton friend to the door.

All in all I was pretty happy with the outcome, and it looks amazing on camera.

My favorite scene out of the film is when you can see the entire exterior of the decorated house with the flashing lights and some hardcore scremo music in the background.
